Buckingham goes back to school with bingo promotion
Posted on September 1st 2010Three Buckingham Bingo clubs in Manchester joined forces this week and gave away £3,000 in shopping vouchers. Venues in Trafford, Middleton and Walkden hosted special games of sit-down bingo as part of the special back to school promotion. Staff on shift also got involved in the festivities by dressing up as schoolchildren.



A century not out for bingo fan
Posted on August 4th 2010A bingo fan in Netherseal is managing to fit in a round of her favourite game whenever the opportunity arises – despite her advancing years. Violet Wright reached the grand old age of 100 on August 3rd 2010. She told the Burton Mail that she enjoyed cooking, knitting and gardening when she was younger, but confessed that bingo is the pastime that has stayed with her."[In the nursing home] I enjoy playing bingo," she said.



Blind woman still a bingo enthusiast
Posted on August 2nd 2010One bingo fan has not let the loss of her vision get in the way of her game-playing. A report from Bingo Supermarket has revealed that the woman continued to play bingo despite suffering a stroke which left her blind. She does this by ingeniously memorising the card number positions which allows her to carry on playing her favourite game.



Bingo pensioner hits the jackpot in Wolverhampton
Posted on July 21st 2010A massive bingo jackpot has been scooped by a pensioner playing at a club in Wolverhampton. The Express & Star reports that the 76-year-old grandmother managed to pick up a hefty £128,000 during a session, and then went on to win a further £125,000 to be shared among the 60-plus players also on-hand at the club.



Buckingham Bingo member picks up £51k prize
Posted on July 8th 2010A Bradford bingo player will enjoy a happy summer after claiming a £51k prize. Hayley Holliday scooped the Bucky Bullseye after calling full house on the number 50. She revealed her winnings would be spent paying some bills as well as on a family holiday. All other players in the club received a £50 prize each due to Hayley's win.



Mad Hatter's bingo tea party for charity
Posted on June 28th 2010A Brierley Hill bingo club is to host a Mad Hatter's tea party this weekend in an effort to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. The event will offer customers a £1 hot drink and muffin deal, with all money raised going towards the charity. The group will be holding further charity drives throughout the year.



Buckingham Bingo Breakthrough campaign gathering steam
Posted on June 16th 2010Buckingham Bingo's campaign to raise money in support of charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer is gathering steam. In total, £20,433 has been collated by Buckingham Bingo on behalf of the organisation, while our Facebook group has raised £342. Buckingham gives £1 to Breakthrough for each member who joins the official Bucky Bingo group – a great reason to join up today.



Buckingham member scoops £50,000 Bullseye
Posted on June 16th 2010A 25-year-old mother from Bradford has managed to win big at a Buckingham Bingo club. The mother-of-five, currently on maternity leave, won our £50,000 Bucky Bullseye. While she does not yet know how she will spend the money, the lucky winner has admitted she has her eye on a new house, and may even give some to her friend.



Buckingham Bingo holds summer Xmas Party!
Posted on June 14th 2010Buckingham Bingo Bradford will be holding a special summer Christmas party on Sunday 25th July. The event will comprise a fantastic three-course lunch, a cabaret, a mystery free gift and a game of bingo. In addition, members attending the event will be eligible to take part in the Grab-a-Grand competition, with £1,000 up for grabs.



84-year-old woman picks up bingo prize
Posted on May 27th 2010An 84-year-old Buckingham Bingo regular from Bradford has finally had that big win – some 2,621 visits later. The pensioner has been visiting the club since 2002 and on Thursday managed to scoop £22,739.68 to the whoops and cheers of the entire club. Deputy manager Sean Simmonite said that he was "in total shock" that the lady had finally won.
