Residents gather for charity cow bingo

Cow dung used in unusual charity bingo game
It's not unusual for bingo to be used to raise funds for charity, but using a cow as the centre of attention for a game might just be a little bit out of the ordinary – even among free bingo fans.
A charity drive to generate funds to lay artificial turf at Glenbard West High School involved a field being converted into a makeshift bingo board with 546 squares. Residents bought tickets and then watched as Hilda the cow marked boxes in a way you might expect from a cow in a field.
After 40 minutes, Glen Ellyn native Jen Corona turned out to be the winner, netting an impressive $2,000 (£1,400) for her trouble. It would be fair to say the win represented the most unusual, and easiest, way to make a quick buck.
Mark Flynn, founder of the fund behind the game, said that the event was a way to thank the people for its support of the project. He said: "We thought about this as much as a celebration as a thank you to the community."
