Double National Bingo Game jackpot in Bradford
National Bingo Game goes down a stormThey say lightning doesn't strike twice but nobody seems to have told the folk at Buckingham Bingo Bradford.
On Friday, January 29th 2010, a club member in West Yorkshire won the National Bingo Game and took home a sensational jackpot of just under £30,000.
And this would have been a major story in itself because the National Bingo Game is one of the most hotly contested big-money bingo competitions in the UK.
History repeating
But against all the odds, it seems history has repeated itself inside a month.
That's because another Buckingham Bingo Bradford member has just won the National Bingo Game and claimed a £30,000 jackpot of her own.
It all happened on Saturday, February 27th when a woman in her 40s decided to take part in a thrilling session of prize bingo.
After sitting down in her booth, she started marking off her ticket in double-quick time and was amazed to discover that she had got a full house in just 41 numbers.
The lucky lady in question lives in Bradford and is a regular at her local bingo club.
Bradford bingo players celebrate electric night
And Tracy Saleh, assistant manager at Buckingham Bingo Bradford, said that it was a memorable occasion.
"The atmosphere in the club was electric," she explained. "From the moment the member called for the full house on the National Game on an incredible 41 numbers there was a constant buzz, which climaxed as the results were announced.
"Staff and members in the club cheered and applauded and were genuinely elated for her."
