Bingo club gets behind cancer charity

The bingo community sure is a generous one. Bucky's Breakthrough Breast Cancer campaign is going from strength-to-strength, while other bingo clubs from across the UK are following our lead.

One such example is a Brierley Hill bingo club holding a special tea party to help out Marie Curie Cancer Care. The group is basing their fundraiser on the Mad Hatter's Tea Party from Alice In Wonderland. On offer to visitors is a great �1 muffin and hot drink deal. Club manager Terry Connelly is hoping to see as many local members as possible. He said:

"We are very excited to be holding a Blooming Great Tea Party to support our charity partnership with Marie Curie Cancer Care and hope that many of our club customers will come and join in the fun.

The money raised will go towards helping Marie Curie Nurses give free care to terminally ill patients in their homes, and the event is among a number of charity events designed to support the organisation.

Bingo players together for good cause

Bingo players from around the world are building a reputation for being generous. One charity event with a difference was staged in the US last month and involved an unusual game of cow bingo.

The game, perhaps not for the faint-hearted, involved players purchasing tickets and then hoping Hilda the Cow chose to defecate in their square.

Organiser Mark Flynn claimed the event was a fun way to thank local residents for contributing to a project to lay artificial turf at a local high school.
