A bingo-loving pensioner had a very welcome phone call over the weekend.

The 80-year-old lady, who is a regular player at Buckingham Bingo Bradford, decided to try her chances on the National Bingo Game on the afternoon of Saturday, March 27th 2010.

As the numbers were called out and she marked them off her ticket one by one, it quickly became obvious that this was no ordinary game.

And when she shouted bingo in double-quick time, everybody in Buckingham Bingo Bradford knew that she was in with a great shout of picking up a big cash prize.

Incredibly though, this lucky lady had already left the bingo club by the time the National Bingo Game organisers were able to confirm the results.

A whole new meaning to the phrase 'bingo call'

So it was left to Buckingham Bingo Bradford assistant manager Tracy Saleh to break the good news via a phone call.

As she explained during the conversation, the 80-year-old lady's ticket had won the impressive Zone prize of �2,941.28.

But there was an even bigger surprise in store because the competition organisers also confirmed that she was entitled to the National jackpot.

It meant a further �5,000 was winging its way over the Bradford, bringing the pensioner's total winnings to a whopping �7,941.28.

Buckingham Bingo Bradford has proved to be a real hotspot for the National Bingo Game so far in 2010.

Back at the tail end of January, a member scooped just under �30,000 on the celebrated competition.

And against all the odds, that was followed less than a month later by another �30,000 National Bingo Game win by a Bradford woman in her 40s.
