Bingo players got plenty of thrills and chills at Buckingham Bingo Bootle recently.

Staff at the bingo club performed a dance to the legendary Michael Jackson song Thriller as part of their spooky Halloween festivities.

Rest assured, there were laughs aplenty as the King of Pop guided a motley assortment of witches and skeletons through the off-the-wall routine.

No part of Buckingham Bingo Bootle escaped unscathed from the spooky shenanigans.

The reception was decked out with an array of pumpkins and skulls and a 'Happy Halloween' sign magically appeared on the bar.

Meanwhile, the stage was filled with cobwebs and spiders � a fitting backdrop for the Thriller dance.

In keeping with the occasion, every bingo player was given a trick or treat over the course of the night.

On the same theme

Theme parties are hugely popular with Buckingham Bingo members across the country.

Last month, the Didsbury branch hosted a Caribbean night to celebrate the arrival of 31 brand new games terminals, including some of the world's most popular titles.

Captain Jack Pot led the festivities as Buckingham Bingo Didsbury acquired the largest state-of-the-art collection of community gaming machines in the UK.

It's been an exhilarating few weeks for the Manchester bingo club.

Last month, a 25-year-old woman won the National Bingo Game during her first ever session at Buckingham Bingo Didsbury.

The lucky lady, who called on 38 numbers, netted the national prize of more than �29,000 at Tennertainment on Friday, October 16th 2009.

Bernard McGuinness, Buckingham Bingo Didsbury general manager, passed on the good news.

"The night was electric," he recalled. "When I went over to the winner to explain how much she had won, she just burst into tears of joy."
